Why Scouting when there are so many options for youth outdoor programming? Scouting America uniquely and incrementally prepares scouts to become leaders, to persevere, and learn to plan and think ahead. Scouting is youth led - it's not a camping experience carefully crafted by executive directors or camp counselors. Youth learn to follow through intrinsically by participating. Scouts both develop independence and learn to work in a team. Every person in scouting faces challenges, whether they are weather conditions, endurance, patience, preparedness, or simply through novel experiences. Today more than ever, all youth will benefit from Troop 104's modern, inclusive scouting, engagement in the outdoors, and social relationship building that lasts a lifetime!
Here in Troop 104, we welcome anyone from the end of 5th grade to age 18 to join us, no matter their gender.
Annual Troop dues are $250 per family, and Scouting America registration fees are about $200 per scout.
Troop 104 is committed to making Scouting accessible to all, so scholarships are available to cover any Scouting-related costs for those who need them. Please ask an adult leader if you need a scholarship.
We meet every week on Monday nights from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. We usually meet at Westmorland Park between Memorial Day and Labor day, and indoors during the school year.
